The Carydale East Apartment Complex on 2727 Duke Street is a highrise where rents are cheaper than elsewhere in Alexandria, Virginia. There live, for instance, singles, students, and those who cannot afford the usually expensive housings in and around Washington, D.C. In reviews, some alleged (ex-) residents say that there are no problems at all. Others complain about vermin, illicit drug activity, sexual harassment, not functioning or too slow elevators, etc. Even a police cruiser with a police-issued shotgun inside was stolen from the parking lot over night in December of 2012. Summary Alexander Cameron is the 9th of 12 children (10 boys and 2Read More →

Introduction This criminal case is an example of potential mistaken eyewitness identification. It was the only evidence produced at trial. Around 19:15 P.M. on November 23, 1993, two (black) men in ski masks, jumpsuit, and gloves entered the Helzberg Diamonds store in the Irving Mall, Irving, Texas, smashed a jewelry glass case with a sledgehammer, took the jewelry (several tennis bracelets) and ran out. A bystander, Michael Selheim, chased the thieves to the getaway car in the darker mall parking lot. Selheim is the only eyewitness who picked Toriano Pitre’s photo from a photo line-up, but his statements made to police and later during trialRead More →

“I was falsely convicted with a mistaken identification (one that can be proven), a dirty police investigator, a prosecutor after a conviction – not justice -, and with trial attornies that did nothing but play a role in a bogus trial. All my attornies would speak about before and during trial was the appeals. We had not even begun trial, and they were already speaking about appeals.” Introduction The night this crime occurred I was at my neighbors’ home. There was a boxing match with Oscar de la Joya, and myself along with my neighbors and their friends stayed to watch the fight. I wasRead More →

Introduction The initial complaint was theft! When the police of Vivian, Louisiana, arrived at the alleged crime scene, the crime mystically mounted to forcible rape and first degree robbery, also reflected in the Bill of Information of September 6, 1996. On October 3, 1996, the Grand Jury of the Parish of Caddo eventually charged Darrien Brown with aggravated rape and first degree robbery. The trial jury acquitted Brown of the robbery charge. Darrien Brown was charged with and convicted of aggravated rape of a 70-year old woman, although no “weapon or instrument” was used according to the Sexual Assault History. Introduction On July 18, 1985, two couples were robbed as they entered their car; the two women also were sexually touched. Several days later, a family travelling in a van was robbed and the female members of the family were sexually assaulted. Five days after the second incident, Thaddeus Hamilton was arrested on another, unconnected matter. One of the police officers thought he fit the description of the robber in these two incidents, so he took Thaddeus’s photograph and placed it in a photographic line-up. Of the four people involved in the first incident, one identified someone else’s photograph and one made a tentative identificationRead More →
